Welcome to the VISTA OCEANO Self Catering Studio Apartments in Madeira. Our spacious and rustic style apartments are beautifully integrated into an old Portuguese house, and represent the very best of what Madeira Self Catering has to offer.

The studio apartments are part of an old style house that Ian and Céu McBride purchased back in 1998. They then set about restoring it to its former glory, to include the rustic but fully modern accommodation that is available today.

The couple met and married abroad, but decided to settle in the beautiful sub-tropical island of Madeira. This was no coincidence as Madeira is Céu's native home. They have two children, Ana and Lourenço.

One important attribute to holidaying at Vista Oceano is that while staying there, you become an integral part of the family. Certainly not just a room number, as is synonamous with large resort type holidays.

The large comfortable studio apartments that lead out onto the garden, swimming pool and Bar-B-Que area, consist of a spacious fully fitted kitchen, conservatory and double bedroom ensuite. A full maid service is provided and laundrette facilities are available.

We care about our guests, and therefore provide free of charge a food hamper on your arrival!

Our studios are equipped with cable TV, modern kitchen with full cooking facilities including microwave, kettle, toaster, fryer etc., private bathroom with shower and bath.

Restaurant 'O Tonel'

Vista Oceano Holiday Apartments exists because of the island famous Restaurant 'O Tonel' that Ian and Céu McBride own and run in Funchal. Ian is the Chef / Proprieter, and Céu 'heads up' the front of house. In fact many of the restaurants regular holiday diners have now become guests at Vista Oceano.

P.S. Guests of Vista Oceano receive a 15% discount at the Restaurant "O Tonel".

Because of the Madeiran sub-tropical climate, the gardens are awash with flowers, shrubs and fruit that are indiginous to the island. In the garden there is a swimming pool and a local type Bar-B-Que house. This area also provides a panoramic view over the city and bay of Funchal that stretches out to the Atlantic horizon, it's wonderful sunsets and the departing cruise liners.

The gardens are colourful and have blooms practically all year round.

Due to the popularity of Vista Oceano Holiday Apartments, so many people make repeat reservations, that they have now become close friends of the McBride family. In fact almost family!
