The Story Begins The dream of many couples of all ages coming to Madeira, is the possibility that one day they will be able to purchase their ideal house on this luscious green island, where life moves along at a pace far more suitable to a stress-free life. Alas many will not see their wishes come true, however for those with the passion and capacity to make it happen, a wonderful sun-filled life can become reality within a relatively short time, especially with a little help from professional friends. One such couple were referred by previously successful buyers to Birgitta Herlin of Blue Levada Estates. Now don't imagine that this is a real estate agency because nothing could be further from the truth. Birgitta operates a very successful 'property search' business that matches available houses to couples with specific needs.
The Viewings The aforementioned couple met up with Birgitta to discuss their requirements. With detailed personal information, she was able to shortlist eight selected properties suitable for viewing. A plan was drawn up that would enable all of the houses to be seen within a two day period, and at the same time, encompass the most beautiful aspects of the island. Touring the island, the first six houses impressed but did not convince our potential buyers. Everyone knows the 'right house' when they walk into it and this was the case for our couple and villa number seven! Although priced a little higher than desired, it was 'love at first site'.
The Dream House Fine panoramic views from an elegant terrace, an established garden with beautiful plants and 'ripe' fruit trees, all combined with spacious accommodation, convinced our couple that this was the place to buy. But, there was one more house to view, and Birgitta being the true professional that she is, convinced our 'love struck' couple that her complete selection should be seen. It was however a wasted journey, the couple had decided on villa number seven even though they knew that the price was too high for them.
The Deal is Done! Birgitta was informed by the couple that they desperately wanted the villa, but only at the price they could afford. Tough bargaining was required but a great result was achieved with the owner willing to sell at a lower price as long as agreements could be signed within a relatively short period of time. With Birgitta's excellent and reliable contacts on the island, a 'promissory contract' was drawn up the next day and signed by both parties. You would think that would be the end of Blue Levada Estate's services however you would be wrong. Birgitta is now helping the couple who have not yet moved into their new home, to decorate, re-furnish and even co-ordinate the building of a swimming pool within the grounds. Now that's what I call service!
