Richard Benn, the Managing Director of Cheetah Management, which is based in Madeira, has been a Chartered Accountant for 15 years specialising in International Tax Planning for blue chip organisations. Richard firmly believes in looking after the client and building a long-term relationship. Through his core business of International Tax Planning, he can marry together local regimes with double taxation treaties utilising the most efficient location, even if this is not Madeira. This gives Cheetah Management a significant advantage over other tax planning companies, and provides added value to their clients.
Richard learns as much as possible about his client’s business, vision and goals. By doing this he is able to add an enhanced value to the service that he provides. This high level strategic planning service is included in his fee structure.
During the past year, Cheetah Management have specialised and been instrumental in bringing many European Telecom companies to the island. Because of Madeira’s low VAT rate of 13% they are able to achieve a lower pricing for their domestic service users, and therefore market competitiveness. This has created physical company infrastructures on the island, and approximately 30 high level jobs, naturally adding liquidity to the local economy. It’s important to note that the VAT structure is not part of Madeira’s International Business Centre’s benefits. Richard can also advise in Intellectual Property Registration, and also provide administration for Procurement and Marketing companies.
